This article explores innovative chiropractic approaches to addressing pain, drawing on insights from experts in the field. By focusing on root causes and personalized care, these methods offer promising alternatives to traditional pain management techniques.

Address the Cause, Not Just Symptoms
My philosophy on pain management is rooted in addressing the cause, not just numbing the symptoms. Pain is the body's warning signal--it's trying to tell us something deeper is out of balance. In my book, "The Wellness Approach," I emphasize the importance of looking beyond temporary fixes and instead focusing on long-term correction through chiropractic care, functional medicine, and personalized recovery strategies.
A cornerstone of my chiropractic methodology is the Pierce Results System, which is one of the most advanced and results-driven techniques in spinal care. What sets it apart is its use of objective measurements--pre and post X-rays, thermography, and video fluoroscopy--to analyze spinal motion in real time. This allows us to not only detect misalignments but to confirm whether each adjustment is producing real, lasting structural improvement.
Patients are often amazed to see their own progress on film, which builds trust and keeps them motivated throughout the healing process. We're not guessing--we're measuring. And that precision makes all the difference in helping them achieve long-term relief.
Rather than masking pain with medication or using temporary therapies, we focus on restoring proper function to the nervous system so the body can heal itself. That's how we help patients move from surviving to thriving--by removing interference, correcting the root problem, and providing a roadmap to true wellness.

Personalized Care for Long-Term Healing
My philosophy, and the philosophy of Chiropractic, is centered on addressing the root cause of a problem, not just the symptoms. Pain is the body's way of signaling that something isn't functioning correctly--so rather than masking it with medications or waiting for it to "go away," I work to identify and correct the underlying issue. That's where chiropractic care fits in so well. It allows us to restore proper alignment and movement to the spine and joints, which reduces nerve irritation, improves biomechanics, and helps the body heal more efficiently.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all approaches. Every patient has a unique history, set of symptoms, and health goals. My role is to listen carefully, perform a thorough examination, and develop a treatment plan that brings both short-term relief and long-term improvement. Chiropractic adjustments are central to what we do, but I also incorporate soft tissue therapies, dry needling, acupuncture, cold laser, rehab exercises, and guidance on posture, sleep, stress, and daily movement.
Pain relief is important--but true healing goes deeper. Chiropractic adjustments act like a reset button for your nervous system, helping the body function better and reducing the strain that causes recurring discomfort. Once we calm the inflammation and restore motion, we shift the focus to strengthening, stabilizing, and preventing future flare-ups.
Long-term relief means empowering patients with the right tools and strategies--whether that's correcting muscle imbalances, improving joint function, or simply forming healthier habits. I want every patient to walk out of our clinic feeling heard, cared for, and confident that they're not only getting relief--but gaining control of their health again.

Empower Patients Through Natural Healing
At Enlighten Chiropractic, we understand pain as a cry for assistance from the body, not something to suppress, but something to learn from. My approach is all about helping the body heal naturally by addressing the root causes of pain rather than masking symptoms. Chiropractic treatment is the perfect fit for this philosophy because it addresses the nervous system, aligns the body, and allows it to function as it was designed to do.
For sustained recovery, we emphasize consistency, education, and lifestyle habits that promote body-wide wellness. Each patient's process is unique, so we collaborate with them to create a personalized plan that incorporates adjustments, simple movement practices, and mindset changes. Our intention isn't just temporary comfort—it's empowering people to live with more energy, freedom, and body awareness.
Correct Subluxations for Improved Function
Applying the chiropractic principles of subluxation correction outperforms "pain relief" based care in every case because chiropractic is a vitalistic approach to health, working with the innate intelligence of the body to improve function and restore homeostasis. Subluxation correction addresses the cause of neurological dysfunction - the disconnect between brain and body, allowing the dysregulation to occur. Symptoms, including pain, are the "effect" of a malfunctioning system. By solely addressing the symptom (effect) and not correcting the subluxation (cause), most chiropractic patients never experience long-term improvement in health and function.
When chiropractic adjustments are only applied if, when, and where there is a subluxation, most patients experience improvements in function (health), as well as relief from their pain (effects). There is, however, a limitation of matter. If a person has allowed their spine to degenerate due to chronic, uncorrected subluxations, then chiropractic adjustments will have a limited effect on both spinal alignment and systemic function.

Focus on Function, Not Just Pain
Chiropractors are often grouped into the category of pain management professionals; however, philosophically, that does not align well with me and my practice. Often, my patients will have improvement in function, which ultimately results in decreased pain. As a principled chiropractor, I focus on areas of patterned subluxation and adjust the area when deemed appropriate. I have found that this method helps find long-term relief for many symptoms, not just pain.
